Nanhai College

Approved by Guangdong Provincial Government and Provincial Education Office, established by the joint efforts of South China Normal University and the Government of Nanhai District , Nanhai College (campus) of South China Normal University has a new operating model which is more streamlined and efficient. Graduates of the campus can obtain graduate certificate and relevant degree or diploma certificate of South China Normal University . The establishment of Nanhai College of SCNU realises the joint advantages of a well known university and a fully-developed economic region. It is a successful cooperation between a higher education university and local government.

Nanhai College brings together talents from all over the country, now a stable staff team with good qualification and strong abilities has been founded. In the team there are 152 full time teachers and 79 administrative staff, and 68.4% of the staff have upper intermediate academic titles. Meanwhile, the college has engaged some famous experts and scholars to be part-time professors and guest lecturers.

With more than 6,300 students, there are 25 majors in the college now, including 12 undergraduate majors and 13 junior education college majors. Some graduate majors are still yet to be set up through the supports of the main campus of South China Normal University in the future. There are the majors:

Undergraduate majors: economics (electronic commerce), information and computing science, computing science and technology(network engineering), software engineering, computing science and technology, laws, politics and administration, Chinese language literature, English, economics (finance application), mathematics and applied mathematics, educational technology.

Junior education college majors: property management, laws, secretary and office automation, electronic commerce, security investment and management, tour management, computer network and information system, computer application and maintenance, accounting, English(business interpreter), international trade, graph and picture, software technology.

The College is well equipped with advanced teaching and scientific research facilities. A high-grade Internet network has been set up in the campus which enables teachers and students of Nanhai College to share the library resources of the main Campus. Internet access has been connected into every office, every student's dormitory, and every classroom and library of the College. Now, there are ten labs for electronic and network technology study, eighty multimedia classroom, ten computer labs, one multifunctional meeting room, one electronic reading room, one multifunctional English audio visual training room and one e-commerce lab. Today, every 4.4 teachers and students have access to a computer in the College; this computer access rate is one of the highest among Colleges in Guangdong Province .
